Short Cycle Programmes (Associate's Degree)


VOCATIONAL SCHOOL - CHILD PROTECTION AND CARE SERVICES (TURKISH) - - CHILD PROTECTION AND CARE SERVICES (TURKISH)

General Description

The program was opened in 2016-2017 academic year and took its first students in 2017-2018 academic year.

Students who successfully complete all the requirements of the program and complete 30 days of compulsory internship will be awarded the Associate Degree in Child Protection and Care Services at the end of the fourth semester

Short Cycle (Associate's Degree)

In addition to the diploma of High School or Vocational High School, placement to the Associate degree programs is made according to the scores obtained in the Selection and Placement Examinations conducted by ÖSYM and the preferred and secondary achievement scores of the students.

Recognition of the previous formal (formal) learner in Turkish Higher Education Institutions, transitions in the vertical, horizontal and university are determined by the Higher Education Council " REGULATION ". Recognition of non-formal certification or experiential (informal and non-formal) learning outside of formal education institutions in Turkey is still in its infancy. For this reason, recognition of the previous learner in all programs of Istanbul Altınbaş University has not been fully started. Exemption exams are held at the beginning of each academic term for courses such as Computer and English which are included in the training plans of the programs. Students who think they have the qualifications expected from these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who are successful in the examination are exempted from the relevant courses in the curriculum.

Eligibility requirements and compliance with the regulation are determined by YÖK. Successful completion of all the courses (120 ECTS total) in the program, at least 2.00 weighted average grade over 4.00 and completion of 30 working days (6 weeks) compulsory internship required qualification requirement for graduation

The main objective of the Department of Child Protection and Care graduates is to support the development of children in need of protection and at risk, with 0-18 age group as normal, special needs, acute and chronic illnesses. It also uses contemporary approaches to develop projects related to children, families, educators, and the community and makes them think and spread the project to the best interests of children and families throughout the community.

Employment areas of graduates can be listed as follows: Ministry of Family and Social Policy, various public and private social service institutions, health institutions and organizations, Child and Youth Centers, Protection and Rehabilitation Centers, Sevgi Houses, They can work in their centers. Apart from this, they can also be employed in non-governmental organizations. In refugee centers where children are taken into state protection, in various projects requiring social work, in international organizations such as Unicef and in voluntary charities, managers, They can be in duty

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can continue their education at the undergraduate programs of the following vocational college graduates who have succeeded in the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted centrally by OSYM: Child Development, Social Work

Examinations, measurement and evaluation are carried out in accordance with the "Regulations for the Examination of Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Instruction" of the University of Altınbaş in Istanbul.

Graduation conditions are as described in "Qualification Requirements and Rules"

Formal Education

The department was created by experts in the field of staff. Seminars and trainings are planned by students who are experts on the field. With "On-Site Professional Practice", students will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned in school.
